Who can see what

Seats, roles and our own access.

Inside your firm

Everyone with a seat sees the firm’s reports, opportunities and profile. Research is a shared asset: a report only one person can find is a report that gets commissioned twice.

What differs by role is what can be changed, not what can be read:

  • Owner — everything, and is the only person who can delete the organization.
  • Admin — the firm profile, seats and billing.
  • Member — reads the library, the feed and the plan, and can invite a colleague.

Everyone with a seat can read the billing screen. Acting on it — subscribing, changing plan, buying a search, cancelling — is owners and admins.

Between firms

Nothing crosses. Your briefs, your profile, your off-limits lists and your reports are scoped to your organization. Another firm on MergeSearch — including one that competes with you — cannot see that you exist, let alone what you are researching.

MergeSearch’s own access

A small team at MergeSearch can see your account and the research we produce for you. They have to: they read your briefs before the research starts, review reports before delivery, and answer the questions you send. That access is what makes this a service rather than a search box.

Nobody outside that team and your firm sees your work.

Leaving and removing

Removing someone under Settings, then Members ends their access immediately. The reports they requested stay with the firm, because they were always the firm’s.

Two people build this, and both of them answer email.

No support tier, no ticket queue. If the manual did not answer it, ask us directly.
