Getting started

What MergeSearch is, and the first things to do.

MergeSearch is research delivered as software. You tell us what to find; our agents do the work; you get a report you can put in front of a client under your own name.

Two things run for you here.

Reports. You send a brief. We research it and deliver a finished report to your dashboard, in your firm’s colour, logo and voice.

The monitor. It watches your market continuously and brings you the moves that open a mandate: a chief executive leaves, a buyout closes, a funding round lands. Each one links straight to the report you could build from it.

The same engine runs for every firm. Your profile is what points it at your market rather than at the whole economy.

What to do first

  1. Set up your firm. The name, then the market you place into. It takes a few minutes and it is what makes the first report yours rather than generic.
  2. Say what to watch. Sectors, regions, company size, the moves worth hearing about. This is the monitor’s brief, and it is the field that changes the results most.
  3. Add your brand. Your logo, your colour, and a few lines on how your firm writes.
  4. Invite your colleagues. Everyone on your firm’s domain works from the same profile and the same library.

None of it is locked. Your book moves, so the profile is built to move with it — every answer is editable under Settings, and the change applies to the next report and the next scan.

Who can join your firm

Your firm is identified by its email domain. Anyone signing up from that domain joins you rather than starting a second account, which is what keeps your profile, your reports and your history in one place.

If someone at your firm has already set the account up, a colleague signing up is asked to request access instead of creating a duplicate. The request goes to your owners and admins.

Where things live

Dashboard is your library: what is in flight, what has been delivered, and what moved in your market this week.

Searches is your pipeline. Every pursuit and mandate you have open, and the research filed against each one. Research is commissioned from inside a search, so it inherits that search’s brief instead of asking you for the same market twice.

Opportunities is the monitor’s feed.

Settings holds your market, your brand, your team, billing and security.

Two people build this, and both of them answer email.

No support tier, no ticket queue. If the manual did not answer it, ask us directly.
