Tuning your monitor
Every field under Your market, and what each one changes.
Everything here lives under Settings, then Your market. Changes take effect on the next scan.
The markets you work in
Pick as many as apply, or add your own. Most firms work more than one, and a second pick widens what we watch rather than splitting it.
What we should bring you
The moves worth interrupting you for. See what the signals mean for what each one is. Tick nothing and you get every kind.
Where you place
Tick the regions you work. Regions overlap on purpose, and selections are added together, so ticking two neighbouring ones costs nothing. Leave them all unticked and we cover the East Coast, where our sources are strongest.
The size of company you target
This shapes what surfaces more than any other field. It decides whether we work through public filings or through the sources that reach companies which never file anything.
The control offers bands rather than free text, and that is deliberate: a phrase like “under $20M” cannot be read as a ceiling by the scanner, so a monitor set that way would quietly have no size filter at all while the screen said otherwise. Pick a band, or leave it open if size genuinely does not matter.
Who owns them
Ownership decides where a move surfaces first: private equity in filings, family-owned firms in their own announcements, listed companies at the SEC. Setting it points the scan at the right sources rather than narrowing an existing list.
The seats you fill most
Tunes the scan toward the roles you actually get paid to fill. “CEO, CFO, functional VPs” is more useful than “leadership”.
Anything else worth watching for
Comma-separated keywords. Sector labels are broad; these are the fine sieve that picks out what you actually care about inside one — “dental, outpatient, DSO” rather than “healthcare”.
If the feed is not right
Too quiet is usually the size band or the regions. Too noisy is usually the signal types or a sector picked one level too broad. Change one field at a time and give it a scan before changing another.
