Setting up your firm

The four steps of onboarding, and where each one lives afterwards.

Setup is four steps. Only the first is required — it creates the firm, so there is nothing to skip into. The other three can be left and finished later, though each one you skip costs something visible in the first report.

1. Your firm

The name, and the domain that identifies it. This creates the organization every other setting hangs off. Editable afterwards under Settings, then Organization, which is also where your logo lives.

2. Your market

The longest step and the one that pays. Sectors, regions, company size, ownership, the seats you fill, the moves worth hearing about, and anyone off limits. It is the monitor’s brief, and it scopes research too.

Skipping it means we watch nothing until you come back. Editable under Settings, then Your market.

3. Your brand

Your colour and a few lines on how your firm writes. Skipping it means reports arrive in MergeSearch green rather than yours. Editable under Settings, then Organization, alongside your logo.

4. Your team

Invitations for the colleagues who should see the firm’s research. Editable under Settings, then Members.

Coming back to a half-finished setup

You land on the first step you have not completed rather than the furthest you reached, so a partner pulled into a client call halfway through does not have to remember where they were.

Two people build this, and both of them answer email.

No support tier, no ticket queue. If the manual did not answer it, ask us directly.
