Brand and voice

How we match a report to your firm.

Every report is delivered under your brand, ready to hand straight to a client. All of it lives on one screen, Settings, then Organization. This is what we match it to.

In Identity, beside the firm name. It appears on the reports we deliver under your name.

Your colour

Pick it with the swatch or type the hex if you know your brand value. It is used on the reports we deliver under your name; left unset, reports arrive in MergeSearch green, which is a fine colour and not your firm’s.

Your voice, which is how your firm writes

The field that does the most work, and the one most firms under-use. Write it the way you would brief a new researcher on their first day:

  • Direct or measured.
  • Conclusions first, or evidence first.
  • Terms you use, and terms you avoid.
  • What your partners actually read. “Partners read the first page and nothing else, so the conclusion goes at the top” is worth more to us than a paragraph about tone.

It is the difference between work that reads like your firm produced it and work that reads like a supplier sent it over.

Anything else we should know

Formatting you prefer, structures your clients expect, house rules about how candidates are described. If you have a style guide, the useful parts of it belong here.

When changes apply

To the next report. Work already delivered stays as it was sent, which is what you want when a client is holding the earlier version.

Two people build this, and both of them answer email.

No support tier, no ticket queue. If the manual did not answer it, ask us directly.
